Quality Control of Oral Care Products

Cinoll’s Quality Control system follows GMP and ISO standards. We strictly control all product’s quality to provide safe manufacturing.

Quality System

ISO 22716 GMP-Certified Quality Management

At Cinoll, quality is not a department — it is embedded in every stage of our operation. Our factory operates under ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification, the internationally recognised standard for cosmetics manufacturing. Every process, from raw material intake to finished product release, is governed by a comprehensive set of Standard Operating Procedures covering 30 documented quality management programmes.

Our quality management system ensures full traceability for every batch, structured change control, rigorous deviation handling, and a continuous improvement cycle through internal audits and corrective and preventive action protocols.

  • Document and Record Control — All production records, test results, and batch documentation are systematically maintained and traceable
  • Batch Traceability — Every production batch is assigned a unique identifier, enabling full forward and backward traceability
  • Change Management — Formulation, process, and supplier changes follow a structured review and approval workflow
  • Deviation and CAPA — Non-conformances are investigated, root causes identified, and corrective actions implemented and verified
  • Internal Audit Programme — Regular internal audits ensure ongoing compliance with GMP requirements
  • Supplier Qualification — All raw material and packaging suppliers are evaluated and approved before use

Formula Development Testing

Testing During Formula Development

Before any formula is approved for production, it undergoes a rigorous testing programme in our in-house laboratory. Using toothpaste as an example, every new formulation must pass the following core tests before it is released for client sampling or mass production.

Stability Testing

Accelerated (40°C / 75% RH) and real-time stability studies to confirm the formula remains physically and chemically stable throughout its intended shelf life.

Preservative Challenge Test

Challenge testing to verify that the preservative system effectively inhibits microbial growth under simulated use conditions, in compliance with ISO 11930.

Microbial Testing

Total aerobic microbial count, total yeast and mould count, and absence testing for specified pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Heavy Metal Testing

Analysis for lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium to ensure compliance with international cosmetics safety limits across all major markets.

pH Testing

Precise pH measurement to confirm the formula falls within the target range for safety, efficacy, and compatibility with packaging materials.

Viscosity Testing

Rotational viscometry to verify texture and flow consistency, ensuring the product performs correctly during filling and meets consumer expectations.

Mass Production Documentation

Complete Documentation for Every Production Batch

After every mass production run, Cinoll provides a full set of quality and safety documentation. These documents give your regulatory team, responsible person, and customers confidence in the safety, consistency, and traceability of every batch we produce.

Certificate of Analysis (COA)

Batch-specific test results confirming the finished product meets all agreed specifications, including appearance, pH, viscosity, and microbial limits.

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

Comprehensive safety information covering ingredient hazards, handling precautions, storage requirements, and emergency response guidance.

Stability Testing Report

Accelerated and real-time stability data demonstrating the product's physical and chemical integrity throughout its declared shelf life.

Preservative Challenge Test Report

Evidence that the preservative system meets ISO 11930 criteria, confirming the product is protected against microbial contamination during use.

Microbial Testing Report

Total aerobic count, yeast and mould count, and pathogen absence results for the finished batch, tested in our in-house laboratory.

Heavy Metal Testing Report

Analytical results for lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium, confirming compliance with the limits set by the EU, US, and other major regulatory frameworks.

Third-Party Testing

Independent Third-Party Testing for Complete Assurance

In addition to our comprehensive in-house testing programme, Cinoll works with accredited independent laboratories to conduct third-party testing on our oral care formulations. This provides an additional, unbiased layer of verification that gives our clients and their regulatory teams complete confidence in the safety and performance of every product we manufacture.

RDA Testing (ISO 11609)

Relative Dentin Abrasivity testing conducted by independent labs to confirm toothpaste formulations are gentle on enamel and safe for daily use. Results are benchmarked against international safety limits.

Enamel Abrasivity Testing

Complementary to RDA, enamel abrasivity testing evaluates the effect of abrasive ingredients on enamel surfaces, ensuring whitening and cleaning formulations remain within safe parameters.

Fluoride Content and Stability

Independent quantification of total and soluble fluoride content, along with fluoride ion loss stability testing, to verify that fluoride-containing products deliver consistent efficacy throughout shelf life.

Whitening Efficacy Testing
